Yes - just hit "Upload", then choose FTP to get to this screen:

http://www.archive.org/create.php?ftp=1

Ignore the "If you're uploading a live concert" link and just enter your full identifier in the blank space provided.

CAVEATS:
1) This is the ONLY server that FTP uploads go to. As a result, it may be heavily trafficked and run slowly.

2) You can use FTP for your initial upload ONLY. Once it is checked in, edits must be done via the HTTP editor.

me, I've progressed to

Checking item dir...
No files appear to have been FTP uploaded.
Did you FTP upload to subdirectory "eh2010-02-26.nemaud.flac" on server "items-uploads.archive.org"?
Please upload files there and revisit this page to proceed.

_

same thing with "eh2010-02-26.aud.flac"

Did you put them in the folder provided for you, or just in the folder you went to when you uploaded? Make sure you change into the "eh2010-02-26.nemaud.flac" folder, then drop your files there. Also make sure you're connecting to the items-uploads.archive.org instead of another LMA server you might have in your cache/preferences...

Basically, security reasons and the fact that the ftp daemon was/is a POS.
